Open Position: Consulting Engineer (Project Engineer)
Who We are: FireWise Consultants is a small but rapidly expanding Passive Fire Protection Consulting Firm that specializes in Firestop. Although a niche market, we are the leader in the industry,get involved in a broad range of issues and continue to grow throughout the state of California and country as the industry rapidly evolves and changes. We specialize in assisting projects in the Firestopping process from the initial design, plan review, permitting, quality control of the installation, problem solving of issues found during construction through final inspection.

The role is a work from home position or on a project site depending what is on the board that week. This allows you to modify your schedule around your needs to get the job done while not have to worry about sitting in hours of traffic each day.
What You’ll Do: A large focus of your job during the first six months would be learning the industry, how we add value and how you will contribute to clients by shadowing the owner and other team members. Day to day responsibilities may include:
Attending online and in person meetings. You will be expected to walk projects, attend the meetings and provide suggested solutions as soon as possible
Working on all types of projects from OSHPD Hospitals, to airports, mega office complexes, high rise apartments, college campuses, etc. We work on the largest and most unique projects in the county.
Find the best way to organize multiple projects and related documents using programs like BlueBeam, PlanGrid, Smartsheet
Tracking and managing details as they are developed and designed
You will need to operate as if you are running your own small business within the business and be able to access and report all the key information on your projects, write summaries, make formal recommendations/presentations and manage the reporting of your time/billing on each project
What We are Looking for in you:
A Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Construction Management, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or Architecture) or equivalent experience. Minimum two years construction experience. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office, Adobe, BlueBeam and other construction based software a plus. Basic drafting skills using AutoCAD and 3D modeling via NavisWorks and Revit an additional plus. Good Communicator Quick Learner Self Motivator Detail Oriented Open to travel (1-4 days a month) Have a desire to learn and ask questions Outside the box thinker Looking to be unique and be a leader in an industry Like helping others as well as identifying, explaining the options and solving problems Able to live in California (San Francisco Bay Area preferred)
